While I am specifically trained in several therapeutic modalities, I focus on meeting people’s needs, rather than sticking to a particular modality. I am also a tarot/oracle & bone reader, level 2 reiki practitioner, rootworker, & ordained priest of Obatalá. All these skills & perspectives are present with me and available in my work. I especially love helping folx find connections between therapy, care work, & their ancestral healing practices.
Do I provide letters? YES!
Gender Affirming Care
These I can do in 1-2 appointments. I write these letters collaboratively, so anything over 1 appointment is just about how much time YOU want/need to take.
ESAs & SDs (emotional support animals & service dogs)
A full assessment of your needs, coping skills, capacity as a prospective handler, and other considerations is required. For that reason, I don't provide these after just 1-2 appointments.
Disability Accommodations*
For clients receiving ongoing care or as part of the ADHD/Autism assessment support plan.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my focus is on understanding the environmental and contextual factors at play in your life. I come to therapy with a trauma-informed/healing-centered, harm reductionist perspective and work collaboratively with you on determining what kinds of interventions are best suited for your needs. At the root, I aim to help you find ways to support your existence through sensory, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual means.
My approach is laid back and can be viewed as “coachy,” meaning I ask questions and provide feedback to help you figure out solutions that will work for your life. I also encourage you to bring your creative and spiritual practices to therapy, so if you want to include art, tarot, crystals, ancestor reverence, etc., we can do that! Most importantly, I encourage you to be as comfortable as possible during session. This means you are welcome to eat, nurse, lay down, have your furbabies, stretch... whatever you need. My only stipulations are that you ensure privacy for session and that you remain reasonably clothed, sober (able to engage consensually), and within the bounds of the law (this last one's just to protect me from any potential legal shenanigans).
Again, this offering exists to intentionally create healing space for (QT)BIPOC – (Queer & Trans) Black, Indigenous, & People of Color. While folx with other identities are not explicitly, this is not a space for learning how not to be a bigot.
